The brother and agent of Xherdan Shaqiri says the Stoke City ace could be swayed by a January move to Roma.
Stoke broke their club transfer record to sign Shaqiri from Inter in a deal worth £12m in August 2015 but the Switzerland international’s constant fitness problems have restricted his involvement since then.
The Potters have made a disastrous start to the season which has raised doubts over the long-term future over some of their star players and Shaqiri’s brother, Erdin, has hinted the 25-year-old could be tempted into a January return to Serie A.
“I’m sorry if I cannot say much,” Erdin told Corrierre dello Sport, via FourFourTwo. “The only thing is that Xherdan focused on Stoke City. January is far away, there is time to understand various options. Roma? Never say never.”
Despite playing 11 league matches fewer, only Marko Arnautovic has created as many chances for Stoke since the start of last season than Shaqiri (both 56).
