Antonio Conte has thrown shade at previous Chelsea managers that constantly overlooked Victor Moses after revealing he saw his potential right away.
Moses, 25, has been a revelation for Chelsea this season having spent almost the entirety of his previous four years at the club on loan at three different clubs.
The Nigeria international has developed into a key part of Conte’s new 3-4-3 formation as the right wing-back and the Chelsea manager has expressed his shock at the fact he was never a key player before his arrival.
“I could see his potential from the first days of the summer training camp,” Conte told Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia. “Moses has important qualities: technique, physical strength, the ability to cover seventy meters of the pitch.
“I find it incredible that someone like him has been underestimated.”
All of Moses league starts have been in Chelsea’s last six matches, in which they have won every game at an aggregate scoreline of 17-0. Having spent time on loan at Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham prior to this season, Moses finally looks to have found his place at Stamford Bridge.
Moses, who has three years left to run on his existing deal with Chelsea, has scored two goals and one assist in 11 league appearances this season.
