Benzema dismisses exit talk

 

Karim Benzema has moved to dismiss speculation suggesting he could have left Real Madrid over the summer.

 

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for the French striker during the transfer window, but the frontman was adamant he would not leave the Bernabeu, frustrating he Gunners in the process.

 

Reports indicate Arsenal could make another move for the 27-year-old in January, but Benzema insists he is happy in Spain.

 

Benzema dismisses exit talk

 

"There was nothing in the talk of a transfer away from Madrid," he told Telefoot.

 

"I’m happy at my current club, it’s the best in the world.

 

"I’ll continue to work here and be happy where I am."

 

Benzema made his first league start of the season against Real Betis prior to the international break, with his goal contributing to a WhoScored rating of 7.84 in a 5-0 win for Los Blancos.
