Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo has confirmed his agent is in talks with AC Milan and Inter.
Negredo, 30, is widely expected to leave Valencia this summer following an underwhelming campaign last season, with Serie A his most likely option.
The former Spain international has dismissed any chance of him leaving to join the riches of the Chinese Super League as he wants to remain in one of Europe’s top leagues.
“I had expectation that were never met [at Valencia],” Negredo said Cadena ser, via Football Italia. “I’m not the only one in the squad who thinks that. Having money and not qualifying for Europe is something that hurt badly.”
“I want to continue playing in the major leagues. Despite interest from Jiangsu I’m not going to China, that’s not my desire.
“We’ll analyse the transfer market calmly and take the most appropriate decision. Inter and Milan? I know my agents have had meetings with them, but at the moment it’s just rumour.”
Of players to make more than five appearances in La Liga since the start of October, no one has required fewer minutes per big chance missed than Negredo (91 mins).
