Betting Preview: Everton vs Manchester United

Although Manchester United sit just 2 points from the top of the Premier League table, it’s difficult what to really make of their season. They have had very few convincing performances this season, yet with 16 points from 8 matches they have to be given credit for getting the results.

For Everton man, Wayne Rooney has drawn much criticism for his performances this season. The Manchester United captain hasn’t managed a goal away from Old Trafford since November and has failed to score at Goodison Park in his last 6 appearances there. His last goal there came in April 2007. Despite picking up a knock during the international break, Rooney will be fit to face his former side while Louis Van Gaal remains hopeful that “maybe against Everton he can change”.

Without the additional fixtures and travel that the Europa League brought to Everton last season, they have been able to find a lot more consistency in their style of play. They have both scored and conceded the same amount of goals as Manchester United this term and sit just 2 points out of a Champions League spot. Only Tottenham (7) are on a longer run of matches without a loss than Everton. Their last loss came at the hands of Manchester City in a match would really could have seen the result go either way.

Everton to win or draw @1.57

Everton have lost just a single match in the Premier League this season. They have lost none of their last 5 and it is unlikely that the run will come to an end today. While Manchester United have lost each of their last 3 games at Goodison Park, they will be hoping to bounce back after their implosion ahead of the international break in a match which saw Arsenal go 3-0 up within the opening 20 minutes.

Both teams to score @1.80

Although Manchester United haven’t found the back away to Everton since October 2011, both Anthony Martial and Juan Mata have been in good form scoring 6 of Manchester United’s last 11 goals in all competitions. Only Manchester City have stopped Everton from scoring at home this season.

Romelu Lukaku to score anytime @2.62

Romelu Lukaku looks to have found some consistency in his performances this season, which could mean trouble for Manchester United. He’s one of just 4 players to score a Premier League hat-trick against United. Lukaku has scored 6 goals in his last league apps, including 3 goals in his last 2. If he scores today it will be the first time he’s scored in 3 consecutive league matches since October 2013.
