Manchester United have earmarked PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries as a surprise alternative to Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, claims The Sun.
The Red Devils have already had a £40m bid for Wan-Bissaka rejected by are poised to return for an improved offer for the Crystal Palace starlet.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are not prepared to match Palace’s stunning £60m valuation of the 21-year-old and are ready to pull the plug on their interest if their next bid is rejected.
Norwich starlet Max Aarons has been identified as an alternative to Wan-Bissaka and now United are considering a £25m move for Dumfries.

The PSV defender featured in England’s UEFA Nations League semi-final defeat to the Netherlands earlier this month but was not particularly impressive, which makes United’s interest all the more surprising.
Dumfries was reckless and mistimed a number of challenges in their 3-1 win over England. Moreover, Dumfries has committed the most fouls over the last two Eredivisie campaigns (136).
