West Ham star set to pen bumper new deal

Manuel Lanzini has finally agreed to terms on a new long-term contract with West Ham after four months of negotiations, reports The Sun.

Slaven Bilic’s side have been desperate to convince Lanzini to renew with the club all summer in a bid to put suggestions he could leave firmly to bed.

Liverpool have been tracking Lanzini since it emerged Philippe Coutinho was a top transfer target for Barcelona but Jurgen Klopp’s side appear to have fended off interest from the Spanish giants.

Lanzini is now ready to put pen to paper on a new £85,000-a-week contract, which is more than double his current £30,000-a-week deal.

The 24-year-old has really established himself as West Ham’s main creator since Dimitri Payet left to re-join Marseille at the start of the year and this news will come as a huge boost to the club.

Only Wilfried Zaha (68) has completed more dribbles than Lanzini (67) in the Premier League this calendar year, while only Eden Hazard (18) has won possession in the attacking third more often (Lanzini – 17).
