Everton poised to land Manchester City midfielder in £10m deal

Everton are on the brink of signing Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph in a deal worth an initial £8.5m, claims BBC Sport.

Marco Silva’s side have had a bid accepted by the Premier League champions, which could rise to as much as £10m with performance related add-ons.

Delph has dropped out of favour at City in the last six months and Pep Guardiola has given the green light to his departure this summer.

City broke their club-transfer record to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo earlier in the window to all but confirm Delph’s fate.

The England international has previously been deployed at left-back by Guardiola but he is no longer required in that position following Angelino’s return from PSV this summer.

Delph, who is expected to sign a three-year deal with Everton, is now poised to become the Toffees’ third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Andre Gomes and Jonas Lossl.

The 29-year-old has started just 31 Premier League matches in three seasons under Guardiola and was limited to just 11 league appearances in total last term.
