Manchester United are gearing up to make a move for Romelu Lukaku as they prepare for life without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 35-year-old striker is out of contract at the end of the season and while indicating that he would be keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford, is yet to put pen to paper on a new one-year deal.
Manager Jose Mourinho is keen to avoid being caught short in attack and is readying a big money move for Everton star Lukaku to ease Ibrahimovic’s possible departure at the end of the season.
Lukaku has excelled for the Toffees this term, with 24 league goals more than any other Premier League player this season.
His exploits have not gone unnoticed either, with a host of teams tracking the Belgian, but United are thought to be readying a move for the young striker at the end of the season.
United have also been linked with a move for Torino star Andrea Belotti, who has fired off 25 goals in his native Italy for Torino this term, but Lukaku remains top of Mourinho’s wishlist.
