Leicester working on audacious loan deal for Monaco ace

Leicester manager Claude Puel is keen on signing Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans on loan for the remainder of the season, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Puel has made signing a new midfielder a priority before Thursday’s deadline and has targeting Tielemans over a reunion with Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater.

Tielemans’ future at Monaco has been thrown into doubt following the return of Leonardo Jardim as manager.

The Belgium international endured a difficult relationship with Jardim during the first few months of the season before Jardim was sacked in October.

Jardim was announced as Thierry Henry’s replacement over the weekend and now Tielemans is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Leicester are willing to include Adrien Silva in a deal for Tielemans and the Portugal international wants to leave the King Power Stadium.

Silva has failed to make any impression under Puel since joining Leicester since joining from Sporting in a £22m deal in the summer of 2017.

Jardim spent one season at Sporting where he worked with Silva and a reunion at Monaco is now under consideration.

Monaco have endured a nightmare season and Tielemans has been one of very positives for the Ligue 1 side.

Only Radamel Falcao (8) has scored more league goals than Tielemans (5) for Monaco this season.

Furthermore, Tielemans is Monaco’s highest WhoScored rated player (6.94) in Ligue 1 this season (10+ appearances).
