Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has confirmed that the LaLiga side are closing in on the signing of Moussa Dembele from Lyon.
The Frenchman has been linked with a Premier League move in the past, with Chelsea previously courting the frontman.
However, while there is no agreement in place, Atletico are in pole position to sign Dembele, who will move to Spain on a loan deal with an option to buy.
"It's still not confirmed, but it's very advanced," Simeone is quoted as saying by Goal.com ahead of Atletico's meeting with Sevilla.
"I'm going to turn my head towards the game, which is what interests me, and when there's something [on Dembele], if there is something, I'll give an opinion."
Should Atletico wish to make Dembele's move permanent before the end of the season, then it will cost the Spanish side a reported £29.6m.
The 24-year-old has failed to nail down a regular starting spot for Lyon this season, making just six league starts.
