Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian will join Inter on loan in January, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via The Daily Mail.
Darmian, 26, only joined United from Torino the beginning of last season but failed to impress in his debut campaign and has dropped down the pecking order since Jose Mourinho’s arrival.
The Italy international is reportedly determined to find first team football and is willing to sacrifice his United career and return to his native country, with Inter the frontrunners for his signature.
Frank de Boer’s side had a bid for Darmian on deadline day rejected but reportedly reached a deal in principle to take the versatile full-back on loan, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Darmian’s only appearance of the season came in United’s 1-0 defeat to Feyenoord in their first Europa League match.
