Paris Saint-Germain's valuation of Neymar ends Barcelona's hopes
Paris Saint-Germain will only allow Neymar to return to Barcelona this summer if the Spanish side stump up more than €175m (£156.7m), claims AS.
Neymar has been heavily linked with a move back to Barcelona ever since completing a shock world record move to PSG in the summer of 2017.
The Brazil international's reputation has dipped in the last three years after struggling with various long-term injuries while at PSG.
In order to offload Neymar, PSG accept they will have to take a hit on their original £200m investment but will not accept any players in return to reduce the asking price.
It leaves Barcelona, who are in financial turmoil following the Coronavirus pandemic, facing the unlikely prospect of shelling out more than £150m to re-sign the injury-prone winger.
Barcelona are already in the position where they must sell before they can buy but it would take several substantial departures in order to afford both Neymar and Inter striker Lautaro Martinez in the same transfer window.
Neymar has still been world class for PSG but the problem has been getting him out on the pitch in the first place.
The 28-year-old has played fewer and fewer matches in each of his three seasons at PSG, making just 15 appearances of a possible 27 in Ligue 1 in 2019/20.
Despite struggling for regular playing time, Neymar has remarkably still managed a direct hand in 73 goals in just 52 league appearances for the club.
