Pulis backs Premier League boss for England job

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis believes Alan Pardew should be the man to succeed Roy Hodgson as England manager.

Hodgson’s contract with England is due to expire after next summer’s European Championships and there are no certainties that the former Liverpool boss will be given a new deal.

Pardew, who is currently manager of Crystal Palace, is a name that has been coupled with the England job over the last six months and Pulis believes he is the right man to take the Three Lions forward.

“When you look at Alan’s record over the years he’s been as good as anybody,” Pulis is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

“Knowing Roy he will want to do the Euros and the next World Cup, but if you’re looking for the next England manager Pardew’s got to be looked at. He would definitely come into the frame for me.”

Pardew has been hugely impressive since taking over at Palace in January and the Eagles have started the new season in fine form. In fact, Pardew’s men are only one point off the top four having taken 12 points from a possible 21 thus far.
