Mauro Icardi has been heavily linked with a big money move to a number of Europe’s biggest clubs but the Argentine striker is only looking forward with current club Inter.
The 24-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to Arsenal and was also reportedly on Diego Simeone’s wish list at Atletico Madrid last summer before he eventually signed a new long-term deal at Inter.
The Inter captain has been indispensable for the team this season and insists he has no interest in leaving San Siro any time soon.
“I renewed the deal because it was something I had arranged with Inter a year ago,” Icardi told Marca, via Football Italia. “I had offers from other leagues, but I always said I am an Inter fan, it’s important to continue with this shirt and get to win something with this club.
“I think Italian football suits me the most. I always said that, for me, my future is at Inter. If other clubs want me, they have to talk to the president, but my belief is that my future will be at Inter.”
Since the start of last season only Gonzalo Higuain (59) has scored or assisted more goals in Serie A than Icardi (44).
