Tottenham will make a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart or Sunderland ace Jordan Pickford if they fail to keep hold of Hugo Lloris at the end of the season, according to The Sun.
Lloris, 29, is currently locked in contract talks with Tottenham and is reportedly demanding to earn more than £100,000-a-week, which Daniel Levy has so far been reluctant in sanctioning.
Harry Kane become the club’s highest paid player of all-time when he penned a new deal last week, in which he will reportedly pocket £120,000-a-week. Lloris is likely to want near to that, which has thrown his future into doubt.
The France international’s existing deal is due to expire in 2019 but a decision will have to be made on his future in the near future if Tottenham want to recoup maximum value for one of the league’s best goalkeepers.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are keen to retain the services of their captain but are now planning for life without their star goalkeeper, with Hart and Pickford among their targets.
Hart has already conceded his future is now away from City after being loaned out to Torino, while Pickford has earned widespread plaudits after emerging as one of Sunderland’s best players this season.
It remains to be seen whether City would sell to a direct rival, but Sunderland manager David Moyes has already admitted they are bracing themselves for offers for Pickford in January, with Spurs among those monitoring his progress.
Of goalkeepers to have started at least 10 Premier League games this season only three have a better save success than Pickford (71.8%).
