Bayern target Madrid defender

Bayern Munich have made Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal their number one target to replace Rafinha at right-back, reports AS.

Carvajal, 23, signed a new five-year deal with Madrid at the start of the summer but is reportedly assessing his options following the arrival of Danilo from Porto this season.

The Spain international spent a year on loan with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 and a move is made all the more plausible with Michael Reschke, who brought Carvajal to Leverkusen, now the technical director at Bayern.

Pep Guardiola’s side could face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United should Carvajal become available.

Since the start of the season, only three Madrid players are averaging more tackles per game than Carvajal in La Liga (2).
