New Everton manager Marco Silva is interested in signing Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, claims The Daily Mirror.
United shelled out in the region of £30m to sign Lindelof from Benfica last summer but the Sweden international endured a miserable first season at the club.
Lindelof’s future at the club is uncertain after just 12 months at the club with Jose Mourinho keen to sign another centre-back this summer.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld and Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet and Everton are interested in prising Lindelof from Old Trafford.
Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams are both coming to the end of their respective careers and Silva has made signing a new centre-back a top priority this summer.
Everton have already been linked with a move for Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles, but are unlikely to fend off competition from Tottenham and Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether United are open to offers for Lindelof but at least one centre-back will likely be sold if Mourinho is successful in the transfer market.
The 23-year-old only made 17 appearances in the Premier League last season. In fact, of United players that started at least 10 league games, only Ander Herrera (6.60) garnered a lower WhoScored rating than Lindelof (6.66).
