Manchester United fear Camavinga snub

Manchester United believe Eduardo Camavinga's preference is to secure a move to Spain, claims The Daily Telegraph.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have made Camavinga a top transfer target but face competition from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for Camavinga in the past but are not in the market for the youngster due to their financial situation.

Rennes are desperate to offload Camavinga this summer rather than lost him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

United were hoping to take advantage of that by securing his services in a cut-price £30m deal but fear Camavinga is holding out for a move to Spain.

It means Camavinga could well end up staying at Rennes and seeing out the remainder of his contract when Madrid will certainly rekindle their interest.

The France international burst on to the scene in 2019/20 in a dazzling breakout season that saw him finish the campaign with 4.2 tackles per game.

Camavinga, 18, struggled to hit the same highs last term but he did earn his senior France debut.

The teenager has made at least 17 more tackles than any other player in Ligue 1 since August 2019 (203).
