Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the club failed to sign Kinglsey Coman before he joined Juventus.
Coman, 19, is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but his sparkling start to life at the Allianz Arena would appear to make a permanent deal a forgone conclusion.
The France international’s fine start will only make it harder for Wenger, who has admitted opted to join Juventus over Arsenal in 2014.
“We really tried to sign Kingsley Coman in the summer of 2014,” the Arsenal boss told beIN sports.
“The transfer was almost completed, but he preferred Juventus.”
Coman is currently the highest rated teenager across Europe’s top five leagues (7.69), having scored three goals and registered a further two assists in eight league games this season.
