Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes is mulling over a move to Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mirror.
Newcastle will be without first choice goalkeeper Tim Krul for the rest of the season after he injured his knee on international duty at the weekend and the Magpies will also be unable to call on reserve shot stopper Karl Darlow for a month through injury.
Valdes, 33, joined United on a free transfer in January but has since had his locker cleared and been made to train away from the first-team after falling out with manager Louis van Gaal over the summer.
The former Spain international is reportedly looking to stay in the Premier League, but United aren’t willing to offload him to a direct rival, which means a move to Newcastle could be on the cards.
Valdes has only had 106 minutes of competitive football since joining United, with his last outing coming way back in May.
