Fenerbahce have switched their attentions to signing Juventus midfielder Hernanes after failing to land Dinamo Kiev midfielder Serhiy Sydorchuk this month, reports Turkish outlet Fanatik.
Dick Advocaat’s side are in the January transfer market for new No.10 this month and had hoped to conclude a deal for Sydorchuk but have been forced to give up in their pursuit after hitting a snag in talks with the Ukraine-based outfit.
The Turkish outfit have now entered progressive talks with Juventus for Hernanes and are confident of announcing a deal before the weekend as they look to find a solution for a problem area in the pitch.
Hernanes’ current deal is due to expire in June 2018 and Fenerbahce are confident of securing his services until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent.
The Juventus No.11 has spent the last two campaigns with Juventus after joining from Inter in August 2015 but the arrival of Miralem Pjanic and Tomas Rincon during the course of this season has only limited his opportunities in midfield.
Hernanes, 31, has only started 18 matches for Juventus in Serie A over the last two campaigns. However, of Juventus players to have attempted at least 30 dribbles in that time, only Mario Lemina (82.1%) has a better dribble success rate (78.8%).
