Paris Saint-Germain lead Manchester City in race for Arsenal star
Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are leading the race to sign Arsenal star and Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The Chile international is expected to leave the Gunners at the end of the season at the latest, with his contract running until next year.
Arsenal are keen to tie the 28-year-old down to a long-term deal at the Emirates, but face a losing battle in their quest to retain Alexis’ services.
The Gunners could sell the star forward in January to avoid losing him on a free next summer and City are keen to do business having missed out on the former Barcelona man on deadline day back in August.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side could now miss out on Alexis with PSG looking to improve in attack as they fear they may lose Neymar next summer, with a return to Spain on the cards.
The Brazilian completed a record breaking £200m move to France earlier in the year, but reports continue to link Neymar with an astonishing switch to Real Madrid.
PSG are now hoping to pip City to Alexis’ signature, though Bayern Munich are also believed to be monitoring his situation in north London.
