Manchester United are weighing up a summer move for former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Lassana Diarra, according to L’Equipe.
Diarra, 30, spent four years with Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League but was never really given the opportunity to showcase his best performances.
However, the energetic midfielder has since been in sublime form for Marseille this season and his performances were enough to earn him a surprise recall to the French national team after a five-year absence.
And, according to reports, his performances have been so impressive that United are now monitoring his progress with a view to making a formal offer for his services in the summer.
With Michael Carrick’s contract due to expire in the summer and Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata reportedly set to exit Old Trafford, United could well be in the market for new central midfielder at the end of the season.
Of the 201 players to have attempted 49 dribbles across Europe’s top five leagues this season, only Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele (89.5%) has done so with a greater success rate than Diarra (83.3%).
