Manchester City are willing to listen to offers for star striker Sergio Aguero following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, reports Yahoo.
Pep Guardiola has not been shy in criticising Aguero this season and has openly expressed his desire to see more from the Argentina international when City are not in possession.
The City manager controversially excluded Aguero from their first encounter with Barcelona in the Champions League group stages and the City No.10 has already served two separate bans for incidents against West Ham and his straight red card dismissal against Chelsea.
City announced the arrival of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus on Thursday following a £27m move from Palmeiras and Aguero is now facing the prospect of fighting for his place in the City team for the first time in his career.
Guardiola is understood to have held late-night talks with Aguero and his agent on Thursday night, hours after Jesus’ arrival and City are now believed to be open to offers for their star striker, although it remains to be seen whether that decision had any relevance to discussions held on Thursday night.
The 28-year-old has still been a regular goalscorer for City and is arguably one of the best striker’s in Europe, so City will not be short of interest should Aguero be on the market for sale at the end of the season.
Since joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, Aguero has scored at least 35 more goals than any other player in the Premier League (113).
