Experienced Frenchman offered Premier League return

Lassana Diarra has been offered the chance to ply his trade in the Premier League next season, reports the London Evening Standard.

The France international is widely expected to leave Marseille this summer, with a move back to Russia thought to be on the cards.

However, Diarra has since been offered up to Tottenham and Manchester United, with a clause in his contract allowing him to move for free following Marseille’s failure to qualify for Europe.

Valencia and Galatasaray are thought to be keen on the 31-year-old, but a return to England is believed to be the player’s preference.

Diarra has experience in the Premier League having turned out for Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth in the past and both Spurs and United could utilise this asset in the coming campaign.

His expert ball retention quality is perhaps his strongest trait, with an 84.4% dribble success rate second only to Mousa Dembele (92.2%) of players to attempt 50 or more dribbles in Europe’s top five leagues last season.
