Neymar’s father has dismissed suggestions his son will join Real Madrid.
The Brazil international made a record breaking £200m move to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona over the summer but has been linked with a stunning switch to Madrid ever since.
There has been a steady stream of reports claiming Neymar is unhappy with life in Paris but his father has ruled out a departure at the end of the season.
“Things change. Today, a move to Madrid is not on our minds and by me answering that questions, I would be fuelling something which is impossible,” Neymar’s father told Fox Sports, via AS.
“I can’t speak about negotiations with clubs from now to five or six years’ time. He has a lengthy contract with PSG and he’s only just arrived. He’s only been here three months and people are already talking about him leaving. It’s difficult to respond to those kinds of comments.”
While plenty has been written about Neymar’s future at PSG, it’s impossible to deny the impact he has had on the pitch for Unai Emery’s side.
The 25-year-old has turned in plenty of stirring performances for the French giants and is currently the highest WhoScored rated player in both Ligue 1 (8.83) and the Champions League (9.64) this term.
Neymar has played a direct hand in 22 goals in 15 appearances across league and European competition this season for PSG (14 goals, eight assists).
