Crystal Palace have announced they have sacked Frank de Boer after just four league games in charge.
The Eagles spent more than a month looking for Sam Allardyce’s replacement in the summer before turning to De Boer, but quickly realised they had made a mistake.
Palace became the first top flight English side in 93 years to lose their opening four matches without scoring after slipping to a 1-0 defeat away to Burnley on Sunday.
It was billed as a must win match for De Boer to have any chance of saving his job and Palace have acted swiftly and will now reportedly appoint former England manager Roy Hodgson.
The 70-year-old has been out of work since being sacked as England manager after Euro 2016, but will return to club management for the first time since 2012.

For De Boer, it caps another disastrous appointment since leaving Ajax. After only lasting 85 days as Inter manager at the start of last season, he has only mustered 77 days at Selhurst Park and is now the shortest serving manager in Premier League history. The Dutchman has only won one of his last 10 league games as manager, losing eight.
