Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is sidelined for four weeks with a knee injury, reports The Times.
Alexander-Arnold suffered a knee injury during Liverpool’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday and is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The England international is expected to miss matches Liverpool’s next four Premier League games before returning against Bayern Munich.
Liverpool host Bayern in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on January 19 and Klopp will hope to have the 20-year-old available.
Klopp is now suddenly short of options at right-back with Joe Gomez still recovering from a fractured leg and Nathaniel Clyne on loan at Bournemouth.
Alexander-Arnold has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League over the last 12 months and his absence is a blow to Liverpool’s title challenge.
The Liverpool youngster has played a direct hand in four goals in 17 Premier League appearances this season (one goal, three assists), more than his previous 26 appearances combined in the competition (two).
