Newly promoted Premier League side Wolves have added experience to their midfield ranks after announcing the arrival of Monaco veteran Joao Moutinho.
The 31-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal running until 2020 after Wolves’ agreed a £5m deal for the Euro 2016 winner with their French counterparts.
Moutinho is the second Portugal international to join Wolves this summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Rui Patricio and super agent Jorge Mendes was again integral to the deal.
“Wolves have made experienced Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho their latest new signing ahead of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The 31-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and becomes the third new face to arrive at Molineux this summer.”
Moutinho’s arrival strengthens Wolves’ Portuguese core at the club, meaning Nuno now has seven players of Portuguese descent to pick from ahead of the new campaign.
He started two games for Portugal at the 2018 World Cup, providing one assist in that time. Furthermore, only two Monaco players supplied more assists than Moutinho in Ligue 1 last season (6).
