Inter willing to double Premier League manager's wages

Inter are lining up Mauricio Pochettino as an alternative to Antonio Conte according to Sky Italia, as they prepare to begin a lucrative project under new ownership.

The Nerazzurri recently sacked Stefano Pioli after a dismal run of results and are on the lookout for big name manager to lead an exciting new chapter at the club.

Conte remains Inter’s first choice, having appointed coaches that the Chelsea boss has worked closely with in the past in an attempt to lure him to San Siro, but it’s seeming more and more likely that the Premier League winner will remain in London for at least one more season.

It’s led the Serie A side to look elsewhere in the English capital, and they are thought to be willing to double Spurs boss Pochettino’s wages, whilst offering the Argentine a substantial transfer budget in the summer.

The 45-year-old reportedly has a €5m release clause in his Tottenham contract that would allow him to talk to other clubs and the project at Inter is an intriguing one, despite the fact that their demise in recent weeks - no team has fewer points over the last six Serie A matches (1) - has made a European finish all but impossible.
