City plot big money move for European hotshot

Manchester City are set to launch an astonishing £78m bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports the Daily Star.

The Gabon hitman has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all considering an approach for the Dortmund man.

However, they are set to be blown out of the water by City, who have been instructed to pursue Aubameyang by incoming head coach Pep Guardiola.

Dortmund will be reluctant to sell the 26-year-old given he's netted 23 league goals this season, only Robert Lewandowski (25) has more in Germany's top tier.

The German side, though, would find it incredibly difficult to resist the tempatition to cash in on the former Saint-Etienne star if City launch a big money bid for Aubamenyang, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid.
