Atletico Madrid ace refuses to pledge long-term future

Jan Oblak has sensationally hinted he could leave Atletico Madrid after this season.

The 24-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain all summer.

PSG were reportedly considering Oblak’s €100m release clause but Diego Simeone’s side are currently serving a transfer ban and would not be able to register a replacement until January.

While the Slovenia international committed his future to Atletico this season, the former Benfica goalkeeper refused to comment whether he would be at the club beyond next summer.

“I can’t say much about what has happened in recent weeks, I really can’t,” Oblak told local Slovenian paper Ekipa. “What I can say is that for now I’m an Atletico player and will be until the end of the season.

“After that, I don’t know, we’ll see. You never know, sometimes things change from day to day. So, for now I can only talk about Atletico, with whom I am happy. I hope we’ll have a good season together.”

Since August 2014, Oblak has kept at least eight more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in La Liga (46).
