Roma make Tottenham target their top transfer priority

New Roma sporting director Monchi has made signing Nice Jean-Michael Seri a priority this summer, reports Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia.

The Serie A giants have reportedly already had two bids knocked back for the Nice midfielder but are determined to land the Tottenham and Barcelona target.

Seri, 25, enjoyed a sensational campaign for Nice last season as Lucien Favre’s side narrowly missed out on winning Ligue 1 and he is now expected to make a big money move despite previously pledging his short-term future to club.

Nice were against the sale of their star man earlier this summer but his departure would mean Favre’s men can afford to keep Mario Balotelli.

Only Paris Saint-Germain duo Thiago Motta (91.5) and Marco Verratti (87.5) averaged more passes per game in Ligue 1 last season than Seri (83.4).
