Loftus-Cheek angry with Chelsea

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is furious with Chelsea after the Premier League side turned down approaches from Monaco and Schalke, claims The Sun.

The England international spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and is keen to avoid a campaign on the bench for Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek earned a place at the 2018 World Cup following his performances with Palace but is concerned a lack of playing time this season will cost him a place in future England squads.

Loftus-Cheek cut short his post-World Cup holiday to impress new head coach Maurizio Sarri but has only managed 22 minutes of playing time during their first three league games.

Chelsea signed Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic over the summer, making it even more difficult for Loftus-Cheek to earn a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge this season.

Sarri is confident Loftus-Cheek will stay at the club until January when his future can be assessed again but the versatile midfielder is angry that opportunities to join Monaco and Schalke have not been entertained.

Both European clubs were keen on signing the England ace this summer but Chelsea have rejected their advances, to Loftus-Cheek’s fury.

Loftus-Cheek started 21 Premier League games for Palace last season and Roy Hodgson revealed earlier in the summer the Eagles failed in their attempts to re-sign the midfielder.
