Arsenal and Manchester United keen on emerging Ajax star

Arsenal and Manchester United are heading a long list of clubs chasing the signature of Ajax winger David Neres this summer, claims The Sun.

Neres has enjoyed another eye-catching season for Ajax this season and announced himself on the European scene in their 1-1 draw with Juventus last week.

The Brazil international scored a sensational curling effort to secure Ajax a draw in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Juventus.

Ajax are bracing themselves for offers for a number of their rising stars, having already agreed to sell Frankie de Jong to Barcelona at the end of the season. Matthijs de Ligt will also be sold and now Premier League clubs are battling for £45m-rated Neres.

Everton are also keen on the 22-year-old but will struggle to land the Brazilian forward if Arsenal and United firm up their interest.

Neres has played a direct hand in 16 goals in 27 league matches this season but is on course to finish with less goal involvements than last term (25).
