Juventus favourites to sign outcast Chelsea star

David Luiz will be allowed to leave Chelsea next month after falling out with Antonio Conte, claims The Daily Mirror

The Brazil international was demoted by Conte for questioning the Chelsea manager’s tactics after their 3-0 defeat to Roma in October and seemingly has no future at Stamford Bridge.

Luiz, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, has only featured in one of Chelsea’s subsequent 10 matches since the loss against Roma and could now leave the club for the second time in his career.

The 30-year-old only re-joined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 and played an integral part in their title-winning campaign, but has struggled to rediscover the same form this term.

Andreas Christensen has flourished in Luiz’s absence and his performances have been so impressive that Conte does not see anyway back for Luiz.

Juventus are reportedly the frontrunners for the former Paris Saint-Germain defender, but Manchester United may also express an interest now that Eric Bailly may not feature again this season.

Chelsea have got a marginally better win ratio in the Premier League when Luiz has not started (70%), but crucially are conceding much fewer goes per game (0.5).
