PSG have confirmed their second summer signing with the capture of Grzegorz Krychowiak.
The Poland international, who played a vital role in their progression to the quarter final of Euro 2016, had been strongly linked with a move to the French champions and has since signed a five-year deal with PSG.
“Paris Saint-Germain is happy to announce that Grzegorz Krychowiak has signed a five-year contract with the club. The midfielder is now tied to the club until 30 June 2021. He is the second summer signing for the 2016-17 season after Hatem Ben Arfa,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The 26-year-old Polish international midfielder (38 caps) has just played in the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2016 with his national team.
“Trained at the Girondins de Bordeaux youth academy, Grzegorz Krychowiak’ professional career took off with Stade de Reims before signing for Sevilla FC in 2014 where he played under the direction of Unai Emery, whom he now rejoins at Paris Saint-Germain.
“In two seasons in Spain, the Polish international continued his progression, winning two consecutive UEFA Europa League titles (2015, 2016) and playing in the final of the Copa del Rey against FC Barcelona, last May.”
Krychowiak went on to say: “I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain. The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision. I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible. I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career.”
Krychowiak was Sevilla’s highest rated player last season, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.23 in La Liga.
