Everton will allow youngster to leave

Everton are willing to let Ross Barkley depart in January in order to fund moves for Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin, reports the Sunday Express.

Tottenham are rumoured to be keeping tabs on Barkley with a view to a January move, with reports last week suggesting that are readying a £35m move for the England international.

23-year-old Barkley has struggled to live up to his potential under Ronald Koeman this season and the Dutchman is prepared to use the youngster as a bargaining chip in a bid to strengthen his squad elsewhere.

Memphis and Schneiderlin have emerged as top targets for the Toffees boss in a bid to improve his team and kick start Everton’s season.

Koeman knows he must strengthen out wide in the wake of Yannick Bolasie’s season-ending injury, with Memphis allowed to depart Manchester United this season.

Schneiderlin is also out of favour at Old Trafford, though Everton would likely face strong competition for his signature should United cash in on the former Saints man.

Any moves are dependent on funds being raised by the sale of Barkley, who has himself a keen admirer in the form of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
