AC Milan make audacious move for Bayern Munich midfielder
AC Milan want to sign Bayern Munich outcast Renato Sanches on a two-year loan deal with an option to make the switch permanent for €40m (£35m), reports Portuguese outlet Record, via Football Italia.
The Serie A giants are on the verge of taking their summer expenditure towards £150 with the imminent arrival of Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci but the Milan hierarchy want to continue their spending spree.
Vincenzo Montella’s side have already signed Franck Kessie to help bolster their midfield options, while Lazio veteran Lucas Biglia will also be joining the Serie A giants, but now Milan are trying their luck to prize Sanches away from Bayern.
Sanches, who was voted the 2016 Golden Boy, snubbed Manchester United in favour of a move to Bayern last summer that could be worth as much as £67m through various add-ons.
However, the Portugal international has failed to make any impression under Carlo Ancelotti and Bayern have since hinted the teenager could be available for a loan after Bayern signed Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso in a £35m transfer earlier this summer.
Milan are willing to pay Bayern a €7m (£6m) loan fee for the powerful box-to-box midfielder before making the deal permanent in 2019. Sanches finished the 2016/17 Bundesliga campaign as Bayern’s lowest rated outfielder (6.43) after only managing to make six starts and 11 substitute appearances.
