Arsenal desperate to keep Saka from Liverpool's clutches
Arsenal want to secure Bukayo Saka's long-term future amid interest from Premeir League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, claims The Daily Mail.
Saka has been a revelation for Arsenal during his breakthrough campaign this season and has developed into a key player for the Gunners.
The 18-year-old featured regularly for Unai Emery and his status has not changed despite Mikel Arteta's arrival.
Saka has even filled in at left-back with consomate ease and his displays have caught the attention of two of the division's biggest teams.
Saka's current £3,000-a-week deal is due to expire at the end of next season and Arsenal want to reward him with a new contract to reflect his importance.
Discussions have already started with Saka's representatives and Arsenal hope for a swift resolution and to avoid talks dragging into the summer.
Failure to secure Saka's long-term future before the end of the season will only invite pressure from United and Liverpool, while Bayern Munich are also interested.
Saka has made 15 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, with 10 of those coming as starts.
The highly rated teenager reserved his best performances for the Europa League, where he played a direct hand in six goals in just four group stage appearances (two goals, four assists).
In fact, only new United signing Bruno Fernandes (8.40) and Sevilla striker Munir (8.30) garnered higher WhoScored ratings than Saka in the group stage of the competition (8.06).
