Borussia Dortmund miss out on Liverpool striker

Liverpool have ended talks with Borussia Dortmund over Divock Origi after ruling out another loan move away for the striker, claims Goal.com.

Dortmund had earmarked Origi as a potential transfer target as the Bundesliga side desperately look to sign a striker before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Origi has dropped out of favour at Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp's side are actively seeking suitors for the Belgium international, who has spent the last four years at the club.

The 23-year-old has endured two loan spells away from Liverpool during that time, including last season at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, but has flattered to deceive in that time.

Origi was unimpressive in pre-season but Liverpool are only interested in letting the striker go on a permanent deal and Klopp is happy to keep him in his squad until January.

Of the 46 players to score more than five goals in the Bundesliga last season, only Lars Stindl (8.5%) had a worse conversion rate than Origi (9.7%).
