Leicester frontman given extra game ban

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will miss Sunday’s clash against Manchester United after being handed an extra game ban by the Football Association.

Vardy, 29, was charged with improper conduct following his red card against West Ham earlier this month and attended a personal hearing in an attempt to avoid being handed an extra game ban.

The England international missed Leicester’s 4-0 win over Swansea at the weekend but failed in his attempt to avoid being penalised further following his foul-mouthed and aggressive tirade at referee Jon Moss.

He will now be forced to watch his Leicester teammates from the stands when they travel to Old Trafford at the weekend, where a win would confirm their status as Premier League champions.

Only Harry Kane (24) and Sergio Aguero (23) have scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Vardy (22).
