Bayer Leverkusen will be without Kevin Kampl for the rest of the season after results have shown he has broken his leg, according to DW Sports.
Kampl, 25, was forced off in encounter their encounter with Borussia Dortmund earlier in the month with what was first thought to be a calf muscle injury.
However, fresh scans have revealed the Slovenian midfielder has actually suffered a broken leg, which will reportedly rule him out for the remainder of the season.
Leverkusen only signed Kampl from Dortmund last year and the versatile midfielder has been in sublime form for Roger Schmidt’s team and his absence will represent a significant blow as they continue to battle in the league and in Europe, particularly in midfield.
In fact, only defenders Wendell (79) and Jonathan Tah (78) have completed more interceptions in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen than Kampl (47).
