Valencia disappointed in Alcacer

Valencia president Chan Lay Hoon has conceded the club are disappointed Paco Alcacer forced through a move to play for Barcelona this summer.

Barcelona signed the striker for €30m (£25.3m) before the transfer window closed on Wednesday to become their fourth striker.

Alcacer, 23, had spent 11 years with Valencia before making the switch and the club admit they are disappointed in his decision.

“He insisted to use that we accept the offer from Barcelona,” Football Espana quote the president as saying.

“He was a very important player to us – an icon, it did not make sense to us as to why he wanted to leave.

“Whenever he told us of his decision we were hugely disappointed, not angry because we see him as our child of his background and what he represents.”
