With the sale of Christian Benteke expected to go through in the coming days Aston Villa are set to be on the lookout for a new striker, with L'Equipe linking the Midlands outfit with an interest in Monaco youngster Anthony Martial.
The forward is one of a handful of players that Monaco are thought tom be unwilling to sell this summer but should Villa bid the majority of the fee they are set to receive from Liverpool for Benteke they could be able to tempt the Ligue 1 outfit.
Tempting Martial to sign on the dotted line would be a different matter though, with the 19-year-old attracting interest from some of Europe's top clubs after a noteworthy year for the Frenchman.
Martial finished the 2014/15 Ligue 1 campaign as Monaco's joint-top scorer, despite starting just 19 of 35 league appearances, with 8 of his 9 goals coming since the turn of the year.
Meanwhile Villa continue to be linked with Emmanuel Adebayor and are reportedly keen on Basel teenager Breel Embolo.
