Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has revealed Juventus made an offer of €25m (£18.3m) for his services this summer.
Hamsik, 28, has been a regular in the Napoli side since his emergence in 2007 and has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League.
The Bianconeri made attempts to sign a number of similarly creative players in the last week of the transfer market and Hamsik admits he was one of those to court interest from the Serie A champions.
“I knew about the interest from Juventus,” Hamsik is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“I knew about the €25 (£18.3m) offer, but I’d prefer not to say what I think about it. It’s better that way.”
The Slovakia international has been one of Napoli’s most consistent performers in the last six years. In fact, only three players have made more key passes than Hamsik in Serie A since the start of the 2009/10 campaign (417).
