Roy Hodgson has been offered a way back into management in China in a move that would more than double the £3.5m-a-year salary he earned as England manager, reports The Daily Mirror.
The 69-year-old has been out of work since quitting as England manager in June following a disastrous Euro campaign and has been mulling over his next career move since.
While the Chinese Super League has made waves by signing big-name players like Hulk, Graziano Pelle and Jackson Martinez, there is also a determination to recruit experienced managers from Europe.
Hodgson, who has previously worked in countries like Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa and the UAE, is the latest manager receiving attention from the Far East and could reportedly earn £8m-a-year if he accepts their advances.
During his four-year stint as England manager Hodgson won 58.2% of his matches in charge, but only won three of 11 matches at the three major tournaments he oversaw.
