Arsenal will move for Argentine if Lacazette pursuit fails

Arsenal are set to make a move for Inter striker Mauro Icardi should a deal for Alexandre Lacazette fail to materialise, writes the Daily Star Sunday.

The Gunners are keen to add to their attack this summer and after missing out on Gonzalo Higuain, are set to turn their attention to Lacazette.

However, Lyon are looking to retain the services of their star striker and only last week released a statement signalling their intention to keep Lacazette.

Should Arsenal miss out on the France international, they will then hope to persuade Inter to cash in on Icardi.

The young frontman has been strongly linked with a move away from the Serie A side this summer, with a Premier League switch on the cards.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old, who netted 16 league goals last season, but Arsenal will hope to strike an agreement with Inter as they look to improve in the final third.
