Napoli linked with Leverkusen’s most accurate passer

Napoli will look to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Christoph Kramer or Porto’s Hector Herrera this month, according to Sky Sports Italia.

The Serie A outfit had also been interested in Valencia’s Andre Gomes, but have been categorically told that deal is not possible.

Maurizio Sarri will instead turn his attentions to Kramer, who is believed to be their first choice ahead of Herrera as the ideal January reinforcement to help them with the remaining half of the season.

Napoli are reportedly willing to offer £11m for the defensive midfielder, but Leverkusen will not budge on their £15m valuation of Kramer, who turns 25 next month.

Losing Kramer would represent a huge blow for Leverkusen, with the Germany World Cup winner an ever-present in Roger Schmidt’s side. Not only that, but no Leverkusen player to have featured in more than five league games has a better pass success rate than Kramer (85%).
